SHOW & TELL
My Stop-motion animation in-school residency program is featured in the 2023-2024 Arts in Education Showcase.
STUDENT ANIMATION SAMPLES
Character education, Social studies, and science topics are some of the topics that have been covered during residency programs. Through the process of telling a story or illustrating what they know students turn into teachers and role models. Creative writing topics can be a lot of fun to animate and students don’t realize they are learning organizational skills.
A writing prompt is created for each workshop series in collaboration with the teachers and principal.
The stories, writing and artwork shown in these animation samples were created by students in Memory Vessel Studio stop-motion school residency.

BEES
A Community Animation Project
We brought the elements and tools needed and set up a pop-up stop-motion studio in a gazebo on the Ross Farm grounds. Visitors to the annual ARTsee Happening were invited to help animate scenes based on a story about bees and their important roll in the world.

FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS
Building connection and community.
Spring 2024: Morris Arts provided a grant to the P.G. Chambers School, a school serving children with disabilities and developmental challenges. In this multi week program students K-8th created 3 different themed movies. We work together to create the story topic, artwork, voice narration and animation. In these movies students shared about their emotions and feeling, growing a school garden, and about cooking food to share with their community. Together created 3759 pictures and 3 amazing movies.
